[Go Away Slangs!] Inauguration Ceremony of “National Association of the Language Culture Enhancement Movement”

"How is our language doing? “Hello! Korean”

Over 1,500 organizations including those of Korean, broadcasting, internet and teenagers, engage in a purification of Korean movement.


The Government is on its Way to [Protect Our Language].

In order to awaken the awareness of Hangeul and to create a desirable language culture, the national language culture enhancement project, [Hello! Hangeul], is about to be promoted by the government.


“This movement pursues the easy, kind and elegant language. Our purpose is to expand the project to an enjoyable language

culture movement, which, unlike the old rule-oriented language projects, aims to spread the beauty of Hangeul that arouses the emotions, creativity and imagination.”


The prime minister, Hongwon Jeong, who had emphasized the necessity for lingual purification movement at the Hangeul Day ceremony and
the National Policy Coordination Meeting, said,

“All of Korean citizens shall take the initiative and put efforts to beautify our valuable cultural asset, Hangeul, which is recognized in the whole
world, and to spread the proper, kind and elegant use of our language.
There is a necessity for the active participations and cooperation of press companies, including the broadcasting companies.
The government will also pay great efforts to establish systems educations for purifying the use of languages in public sectors, on internet, 
on broadcasts and by teenagers.


In order to allow the language culture enhancement movement to be settled and spread over the whole society, the

Language Culture Enhancement> is planning to partner up with the projects of Cultural Prosperity Committee and other relevant departments to

promote the partnership plans and contests for various projects. The representative public bodies in three areas, public language,

On the day of inauguration, an actor, Sungki Ahn, 8 experts in cultural arts, including prof. Sookjae Lee, the [creator of Hangeul dance], 

and 11 announcers from main broadcasting companies like KBS, MBC and SBS, were appointed as the [Guardians of Our Language].

Total number of 400 people have participated, including the Prime Minister, Hongwon Jeong, the chairman of National Committee of Cultural 

Prosperity, Dongho Kim, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Jinryong Yoo, and staffs from relevant offices, and relevant National Associations and PR ambassadors thereof.
